Shocking but true:

This again showed that we are following something madly which was said to us by senior citizens without knowing whether it's true or not.

NOTE: This same message stating that Gandhi is not our father of nation was a;ready mentioned in a post in this blog before 2 months.

`Over 1 lakh villages without electricity

MADURAI: Despite the tremendous growth in the field of energy, there is deficit of power in the country. So a collaborative system should be developed involving government, students, educational institutions and research and development organisations, said S.C. Srivastava, Dean of Research and Development, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Inaugurating a two-day National Power Engineering Conference organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Thiagarajar College of Engineering here recently, he said that there was surplus energy in east and north-eastern parts of the country while there was a deficit in rest of the country. To reach a balance, the Ministry of Power had planned to establish a regional grid, he said.
At present, the country needed 88,000 MW of power whereas the production was 80,000 MW. Approximately, the deficit was 9.1 percentage, he said and added that by 2012 the Ministry had planned to produce 30,000 MW more. "Even if 70 per cent of this 30000 MW is achieved, it would be a massive success," he said.
Mr. Srivastava said as many as 1,25,000 villages were still groping in the dark without electricity out of 5.93 lakh villages and about 18,000 villagers remained isolated. Distribution system should be revamped not only at the production level but also at the end-user level and equipment modernised as old machinery contributed to poor power supply. Instead of depending on hydro, gas and coal as power sources, alternative sources such as solar energy should be used.

The next Task

Guys as spoken in our class ,as an intiative to minimise the use of plastics, our team is collecting the plastic covers which are being given along with record sheets in our college depot and our target is to collect 2000 covers within this semester and already we had collected around 250 covers with the help of both second, third, final years and those who read this is also requested to give the covers to any of us (III-EEE(A))...

Instant Prints

  • Creating instant prints from a digital camera is one of the new electronic inventions in printing. The Polaroid PoGo™ is a small portable printer that weighs only a few ounces.

  • The printer produces full color 2" x 3" prints using an "inkless" technology. The images are created from heat activated crystals in the photo paper. The photos are water proof, tear proof and smear proof.
  • This new electronic invention connects to a digital camera using a USB cable, or to a mobile phone through wireless Bluetooth. It uses rechargeable batteries or an AC adapter.

World's Fastest Motor

  • latest technology inventionsA new motor developed by researchers at ETH Zurich's Department of Power Electronics and marketed by the Swiss company, Celeroton, can spin in excess of 1 million revolutions per minute.
  • As a comparison, collapsed stars spin at 60,000 rpms, a blender at about 30,000 and high performance engines at around 10,000 rpms.
  • The matchbook-sized motor has a titatnium shell, ultra-thin wiring and a trade secret iron formulated cylinder. The need for smaller electronic devices requires smaller holes, which means smaller, faster, more efficient drills.

Yoshemite National Park

The stars have to align for these fire phenomenon...
 Yoshemite National Park California,USA

Yosemite National Park, California , USA
This park was gazetted as a national park in 1890. It is world famous for its rugged terrain, waterfall and century-old pine trees. It covers 1200 sq km and the "fire" waterfall of El Capitan is one of the most spectacular of all scenery.
The spectacular view of the waterfall is created by the reflection of sunlight hitting the falling water at a specific angle.
This rare sight can only be seen at a 2-week period towards the end of February. To photograph this rare event, photographers would often have to wait and endure years of patience in order to capture them. The reason is because its appearance depend on a few natural phenomenons occuring at the same time and luck.
1st, Is the formation of the waterfall - The water is formed by the melting of snow and ice at the top of the mountain. It melts between the month of December and January and by the end of February there might not have much snow left to melt.
2nd, is the specific angle of the sunray hitting the falling water - The sun's position must be exactly at a particular spot in the sky. This occurs only in the month of February and at the short hours of dusk. If it is a day full of clouds or something blocking the sun, you can only take pictures of your own sorry faces on the waterfall. It coincides with the fact that the weather in the National Park at that time of the year is often volatile and unpredictable. It compounds the difficulty of getting these pictures.
Someone did !!! and we all get to see it !!!

Do you use chewing gum? If yes, then read this

The Disadvantages of Chewing Gum thumbnailThe Disadvantages of Chewing Gum

Chewing gum can cause damage to your teeth.
Chewing gum has been a popular pastime for ages. Ancient Greeks chewed gum made from the resin of the mastic tree and ancient Mayans chewed on gum sourced from the sapodilla tree. While the ingredients have changed, gum is still trendy today. Gum is most commonly used as a breath freshener. However, chewing gum can have its disadvantages. Knowing the potential damage chewing gum can cause is important when choosing to chew.

Troubles caused:

  • Chewing sugared gum can cause tooth decay, gum disease, and cavities. Sugar coats the teeth and can be destructive to your teeth without immediate brushing. Damage to your natural tooth enamel is also possible. When purchasing gum, beware of gums with large quantities of sugar. Artificial sweeteners can cause headaches or digestive
Chewing sugared gum can cause tooth decay, gum disease, and cavities. Sugar coats the teeth and can be destructive to your teeth without immediate brushing. Damage to your natural tooth enamel is also possible. When purchasing gum, beware of gums with large quantities of sugar. While chewing sugarless gum is a possible alternative, make sure you are not allergic or sensitive to artificial sweeteners like Aspartame and Sorbitol. Artificial sweeteners can cause headaches or digestive irritation.

    Jaw Stress

    • While many chewing gum companies boast the longevity of their product, frequent chewing or chewing for extended periods of time can have its disadvantages. Habitual chewing may cause continuous stress on your jaws. This leads to a condition called Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TJD). This condition includes facial pain and great discomfort in the back of the neck.

    Stomach Issues

    • Chewing gum frequently can lead to stress on your stomach and intestines. After a meal, your stomach and intestines rely on a resting period to digest. Chewing gum soon thereafter may irritate your digestive systems, leading to stomach aches. In addition, chewing on an empty stomach may aggravate gastritis.
    irritation.

Arctic sea ice may vanish in 10 years

Arctic sea ice could vanish within 10 years as it is melting much faster than previously believed, thanks to global warming, warn scientists, claiming that the process is 50% faster than the current estimates. Preliminary results from the European Space Agency's CryoSat-2 probe indicate that 900 cubic kilometres of summer sea ice has disappeared from the Arctic ocean over the past year.
The consequences of losing Arctic's ice coverage, even for only part of the year, could be profound. Ocean temperatures will rise and methane deposits on ocean floor could melt, evaporate and bubble into atmosphere.

Hockey-not an Indian national game

Indian Hockey Team
Children in school learn that hockey is the national game of India. It is also there in any book of general knowledge. Even in competitive examinations, an aspirant is expected to know that hockey is our national game. But now the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has replied to an RTI query that India has not notified any national game as such.Ten-year-old Aishwarya Parashar had asked the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) when the government of India had notified hockey as a national game.
But SPS Tomar, Under Secretary, Union Ministry of Youth Affairs has replied that there was no such record available in his archive.
" I haven't come across any official order or notification in the ministry saying that hockey is our national game. It is known to be a national game in general parlance," Tomar has stated.
"I had asked the government when hockey was notified as national game. The question assumes significance in the backdrop of the fact that we have been learning since Class I that hockey is our national game. We attach this game with our nationalism and take pride in the fact that Indian hockey team has been the most successful in the history of Olympics. We have won eight gold, one silver and two bronze medals in Olympics in past," Aishwarya said.
" Interestingly, the government of India website calls hockey our national game but as per the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs, India has no national game as such," she said.
Previously, Aishwarya, a Class VI student, had also brought to the knowledge of the people that Mahatma Gandhi was never identified by the Government of India as Father of the Nation.
In reply to her RTI query to the PMO in March this year, she was informed that as per the public records in the National Archives of India, there was no specific document to support the popular claim that the government had bestowed on Gandhi the honour of Father of the Nation.

The limit of success is based on your thoughts

Thank you for god make this chance. Hi, friends I’m S.Muthusamy (Ashok). From today, I also share some information with you through this site. I have some social awareness, andso I join this site with my friends who do a wonderful job for you.
Friends our primary goal is to make a social awareness in the young and Educated society. Because not only the uneducated, the educated fellows also involved in many undesirable things and Environmental hazards. They have the knowledge, but they do not think what is its effect in future or present.
I’m not forgotting the basic thing that everyone should work hard to make success. Based on the knowledge and sincerity ,their level of success will be decided. The successful person can help to their followers. The thing we are not politicians or actors (don’t take negative), we cannot make a revolution in 3 hours or in small period of time , because we have 120 billion friends. So we suggest that everyone must have the self control and sincerity to him/herself.
The big problem in our society is “They forgot all things in short period” (eg. sorry to say Some friends forgot things discussed here after left this site). Respected to the short time memory loss friends fix the things discussed here in your heart like your girl friend. If you do it, we will add one member to our site and felt pride to find one true Indian citizen. We believe the power of words and the power of youngsters.

Who cares?

These photographs were also taken in the areas that lies near by to our college and it really looks nice.Isn't it? The title 'Irresponsible soceity'  includes mainly educated personalities which means none other than us.and .Why we mentioned that we are Irresponsible is that even though we study everything about the environment,we are making everything to destroy the nature.
Can't we do something to this? Please say your suggestions so that we may do something to this environment from our side.
